The Guardian
An investigation into Russia’s use of fake environmental news. The year-long project involved organising a trip to Gdansk, Poland, where my team and I managed to gain full access to the controversial Vistula Spit Canal months before it opened.
Interviewed and got statements from around 15 officials, including professors, industry leaders, activists, and the lead engineer for the canal. We also took original photos and videos.
Sponsored by Journalism Fund EU.

Went to the northern border city of Arica, Chile, to investigate alledged corporate crimes involving the dumping of arsenic-laden mining waste during the Pinochet era. 200,000 people have been suffering symptoms of arsenic poisoning since the waste was dumped.
Interviewed victims, NGOs, activists, academics, geologists, and the former mayor. We also located the waste itself, buried just metres away from the infected area in the local landfill.
Our work has since been used by the European Coalition for Corporate Justice after we proved that the information in their white papers was inaccurate.
